Nowadays a slalom ski is a very big investment
and a very useful weapon to attack the slalom course.
Here are some tips so you can take the best benefit out of
your new slalom.
Always clean the bottom of your new ski with soup and scotch
bright. Because all skis are made on molds and they use wax.
So if you don’t clean the ski you will fell it very slippery.
Try to set up your ski with the factory settings. Bindings
and fin.
If you all ready know what works better for you in your fin
measurements. I will suggest taking al least one or two sets
with the factory settings. This way you will know how the ski
performs.
If you want to have the same numbers as your old ski I suggest
using an 8 inches long caliper.
Don’t get rid of your old ski or move the fin of your
old ski until you are 100% sure you like the new ski.
It’s a very common mistake to take away the fin of your
old ski and put it on the new ski thinking you will have the
same measurements. This is not right because every ski is different
and you will have different measurements, even do the skis
are same model, same size, etc.
Don’t relay on the inserts of the ski to set your bindings,
measure them form the tail of the ski.
Take your first set at least two miles slower of one rope length
longer than usual and feel the ski. Try to be very sensible
on what the ski is doing.
If you like the way it is don’t move anything and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!
If
you think it will need adjustment go to fin setting
